Hi Suresh, I’m a Malaysian who know Diwali (or Deepavali) quite well from my Indian friends here. Yes, there is a sizable percentage of Indians mostly from Tamil Nadu or Sri Lanka who migrated here centuries ago, similar to my ancestors in China. Now, Malaysia is considered a multi-racial country with 3 main ethnic groups: Malay, Chinese and Indian.

If it’s not too late, I’d like to wish you தீபாவளி வாழ்த்துக்கள், or deepavali valthukkal, Tamil for Happy Deepavali!
