Large Hadron Collider (LHC):Google Logo

Today’s(10/09/08) Google logo is based on Large hadron Cllider (LHC) which is a particle accelerator used by physicists to study the smallest particles possible. In simple terms we can call it a microscope.

We all read about the big bang theory , according to it there was a big collision long time back and earth is just a part of thing which are result of big bang.So scientist wanted to know the exact origin of earth and they found this LHC in which they recreate a similar environment.They are constructing this LHC from last 20 years.They finished this construction in this January near Geneva.This is placed at 500 feet under the ground.

Google changed the logo right at the moment the experiment started.This experiment will be going on for 3 months.Scientists from 20 countries are participating in this.The approximate cost of this Re Big-Bang is about 10,000 crores. India also contibuted a little bit of this amount.Hope this will succedd and we will know more about the earths origin.

The funny thing in this is that it seems that Google logo is being sucked into vacuum that is about to be created by the collision. Like Google wants to say that it will create a micro black hole that will suck all the materia and finally the whole Earth into it…

Actually, I read about an article about all the rumours about this LHC, saying that it may destroy Earth with black holes, etc.
According to the article, even though the LHC does create micro black holes, they would evaporate instantly because of its size. Also, even if the black holes are stable enough, the rate of swallowing matter is infinitesimal. It will only eat up 1mg of matter over the period as old as the universe!
Besides, to the whole universe, the power of LHC is nothing…
